handyPrint™ v3.1 is a 64bit (core 2 duo or better) Mac OSX application that allow you to print from your iPods, iPads and iPhones on legacy printers that do not support the AirPrint protocol. handyPrint™ is the new name for our application that used to be called 'AirPrint Activator'. We have decided to rename the application to avoid using the Apple trademark ‘AirPrint™'. With the 3.1.1 release, we simply renamed the application handyPrint™.This version is compatible with iOS4.3, iOS5 & iOS6 and will run on OSX Snow Leopard (10.6), Lion (10.7) and Mountain Lion (10.8). It is a complete re-write of the previous version 2.Where is 'AirPrint Activator'? Do I need a new license?Don't worry, handyPrint™ is the same application with a new name and a new icon. Your current license of 'AirPrint Activator' will work just as well in handyPrint™.How do I update? It will take care of cleaning up all the previous files. You won't even need to enter your license again.V3.1 of handyPrint™ run on your Mac to share local and network attached printers to an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch running iOS 4.2 or newer. handyPrint™ make all locally shared printers available via AirPrint. If it is shared by your Mac it will be advertised.There are other solutions out there but they either cost a lot of $$$. AirPrint Activator only requires you to make a small donation.Remember, only donate if the application is working for you during the trial period. Then you'll need a little help printing from your iDevice. AirPrint Activator is a free Mac app that provides just that aid.AirPrint Activator is a free download, although the developer politely asks for a small donation, making it a much more inexpensive option than the $20It looks very similar to Printopia, with an on/off switch on the left and a pane on the right showing the available printers. And like Printopia, it does not require you to install an iOS app. You just need to be running iOS 4.2 or later. Unlike Printopia, however, it does not feature virtual printing to your Mac.As long as everything is connected to the same network, AirPrint Activator should find your printer automatically, whether a printer is connected via USB to your Mac or via a wired or wireless connection to your Wi-Fi router. Unless you have a Mac Mini and always leave it running, one drawback is that your Mac needs to be running and connected to your printer in order to print from and iDevice using Printopia.
